Proven pain and fever relief Nurofen is for the reflief of headache and back pain of musculo-skeletal origin, feverishness, muscular aches and pain, menstrual pain and dental pain and for the relief of pain associated with migraine, Nurofen (200mg) can be taken with a glass of water

Directions for Use Read the package leaflet before use. Adults and Children over 12 years: Initial dose 2 tablets taken with water, then if necessary, 1 or 2 tablets every four hours. Migraine: Take two tablets three times a day Do not exceed 6 tablets in any 24 hours. Not to be given to children under 12 years. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult your doctor. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration of treatment

Nurofen should not be given to patients with bleeding disorders, cardiovascular disease, peptic ulceration, or a history of such ulceration. Asthma sufferers should only take Nurofen after consulting a doctors. Caution is advised in those patients who are receiving coumarin anticoagulants. Patients who are sensitive to aspirin should not be give Nurofen. Caution Is required in patients with a history of hypertension and/or heart failure as fluid retention and oedema have been reported in association with NSAID therapy. Elderly: The elderly have an increased frequency of adverse reactions to NSAIDs, especially gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation (PUBs) which may be fatal. The risk of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation (PUBs) is higher with increasing doses of Nurofen, in patients with a history of ulcers and the elderly. When gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration occurs in patients receiving Nurofen , treatment with Nurofen should be stopped. Nurofen should be given with caution to patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease (e.g. ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, hiatus hernia, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, angiodysplasia) as the condition may be exacerbated. Serious skin reactions, some of them fatal, including exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis have been reported. Nurofen should be discontinued at the first appearance of skin rash, mucosal lesions, or any other sign of hypersensitivity. Angioedema and hypersensitivity reactions have been reported.
